FBI documents that Terry Nichols' lawyers say they do not believe have been provided to the defense from the U.S. govermnment or state prosecutors in his Oklahoma murder trial: -Three-part FBI teletype dated Aug. 23, 1996 from the FBI Director to
FBI's Philadelphia office stating the Aryan Republican Army (ARA) bank
robbery gang made a video in January 1995 vowing a courthouse massacre
and that two of the gang members were present at the Elohim City, Okla., white
supremacist compound when Timothy McVeigh made a phone call to a home
there on April 5, 1995. -Four-page Jan. 4, 1996 teletype from Director of FBI stating that FBI believes McVeigh was seeking to recruit a second conspirator on the day he called Elohim City on April 5, 1995. The teletype also states that the FBI received information that McVeigh had a lengthy relationship with a person at the Elohim City compound. -May 8, 1996 handwritten communication from the FBI lab in Washington
to the Kansas City FBI Special Agent in Charge concerning analysis of
evidence in the bank robbery case that references specimen K144 as "Miscellaneous
documents and identification papers including 1 Arkansas Drivers permit
(with Photo) in the name of Robert Miller" that were found among the contents
of bank robber Richard Guthrie. -Nov. 3, 1995 teletype from FBI Omaha to FBI Director and other offices, including
Oklahoma City, stating that OKBOMB task force believes a sketch of one
of the ARA bank robbers from an Aug. 16, 1995 robbery in Bridgeton, Mo.,
resembles a mystery man believed to have accompanied McVeigh and Nichols
to a Cassville, Mo., realtor back in 1994. -May 15, 1995 memo from FBI headquarters to FBI Cincinnati showing negative
comparison of single palm print from ARA bank robbery in Springdale, Ohio,
to McVeigh or Nichols. -June 7, 1995 memo from FBI headquarters to Cleveland FBI asking for comparison
of McVeigh's picture to one of the bank robbers spotted on a bank surveillance
videotape in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Memo states "no meaningful conclusion"
could be reached from comparison. -Dec. 6, 1995 teletype from FBI St. Louis to FBI Director and other offices
requesting a January 1996 meeting for a presentation on the status of
investigation into "possible connections" between the bank robbers and
the Oklahoma City case. Memo states the bank robbers left behind article
with McVeigh's picture circled at two consecutive robberies in 1995. -Aug. 22, 1996 FBI electronic communication from FBI Omaha to FBI Lab and
other FBI offices detailing various car transaction records by bank robbery
gang showing members bought a 1983 white Chevy Suburban on Arkansas-Oklahoma
border on April 17, 1995 and registered it on April 21, 1995 in Iowa. -Aug. 1, 1996 FBI interview report of Kevin McCarthy in which the bank robber
states he received electric and non-electric blasting caps from a fellow
gang member who had frequented the Elohim City compound. -March 1996 FBI interview report of Richard Guthrie in which Guthrie
states he got the blasting caps from Kevin McCarthy and believes McCarthy
possesses more caps. -Handwritten evidence log showing confiscation of one videtape with notation
"contract" and video surveillance of various properties. -June 1, 2001 letter from law firm to Attorney General John Ashcroft stating
current and former FBI agents represented by the firm have "serious concerns"
about misconduct inside the FBI lab during the Oklahoma City bombing investigation. -FBI evidence log stating a wrapped Christmas package found in the same house
of bank robbers as the blasting caps.
